By choosing the five-letter word 'oasis,' I was given the challenge of expressing the meaning of the word through the medium of wood. By creating a structure that connoted the essence of an oasis, I was given a challenge that would have to not only withstand human interaction but also the test of time. I ultimately designed and produced a simple oasitic bench that mimicked the relaxing qualities of an oasis in its smooth and blended edges. The Oasis bench allowed for a more literal Oasis to become present in it's installed location, where no seating was available.
